Picnic in the City, organized by the Public Hygiene Council, will be happening on Sunday, 30 October 2022 from 8am to 10.30am at Somerset Youth Park. This event is held in conjunction with our Quarterly SG Clean Day, a day without cleaners.
SG Clean Day is scheduled to be held quarterly where all Town Councils and partners will cease sweeping at selected areas of participating housing estates, public parks, attractions, reservoirs, shopping malls for a day. The goal is to highlight the amount of litter there will be when we go without cleaners, helping us appreciate our cleaners more.
What To Expect
Here is what to expect in this 2.5-hour jam-packed event on sustainability. This is a great opportunity for families and friends to spend time together for a good cause on a weekend morning.
Scavenger Hunt
Picnic in the City will start with a scavenger litter-hunt as you explore the Orchard shopping belt to find litter-themed objects.
Litter-Picking
While taking part in the scavenger hunt, you can also do your part to keep Singapore clean by picking up litter. Tongs will be provided, but bring your own plastic bags.
Relax & Picnic
After the scavenger hunt, you can find a nice spot to relax the morning away within the Somerset Youth Park. Bring your own picnic mats and food while enjoying the performances.
Live Performances
There will be live performances by UFM100.3 DJs while you relax and enjoy your food.
Other Fun Activities
Take a selfie with your favourite DJs, attend the “Appreciating Our Cleaners” ceremony and hang out with our Supermons —you can strike a pose with Toilemon, shake hands with Trashemon or even give Trayremon a big hug for the family album!
