My friend was looking to clear his credits before we MR this year and noticed that the price of the running shoes in the emart has increased significantly by about S$8. Generally, everything increased in price but running shoes had a big jump in price. However, there are certain items that actually fell in price.
I wanted to compare the prices with past orders and record the emart prices for future comparisons. I think it will be helpful to see how much prices have increased over the years.
SAF Emart Running Shoe Prices
The price increase in SAF emart running shoes is the one that prompted me to write something.
According to this article, the latest two SAF emart running shoes were released in September 2021. The price of the New Balance and Asics running shoes then was S$43.55 and S$35.90 respectively.
Fast forward to today, the prices of the New Balance and Asics running shoes have increased to S$51.71 and S$43.96 respectively. This is quite significant at about 20%. Looking at past orders, the prices have increased between June 2022 and December 2022.

Despite the increase in prices, the SAF emart running shoes are still quite a bit cheaper than comparable alternatives. I have been using SAF running shoes since I enlisted more than 10 years ago due to their cost and ability to be paid via credits. I will probably choose SAF running shoes even if I had to pay cash.

Old Orders Vs New Prices
