I will be highlighting some weekly events and activities to do in Singapore that is absolutely free. We do not have to spend money to enjoy ourselves.  I will focus on physical activities as there are already many things to do online.

Description: Naina V will perform original songs and covers in the style she enjoys best: acoustic. Samvadana: Musical Conversations

Description: This performance is an ode to the two major Indian classical music genres—carnatic and hindustani. Expanding on the idea that as that jugalbandhi typically engages with common themes, this musical conversation seeks to explore allied ragas as well as to juxtapose the emotive nuances of specific ragas and manodharma or improvisation elements in the two genres.

Swar Yuva

Description: Swarhythm Yuva Ensemble is a five-piece band comprising young musicians—Shivdarshan on piano, Shreeranjani on violin and vocals, Kartik on flute and saxophone, Aliraza on tabla and mixed percussions, and Tharun on mridangam. Mentored by tabla artist and Young Artist Award recipient, Nawaz Mirajkar, this youthful and energetic ensemble will perform Mirajkar’s compositions which are a blend of hindustani and western music styles.

Description: Join the PAssionARTS AudioImage Wind Ensemble as they make their return to the Esplanade with MAD! – Mad About Dance!, presenting a programme of foot-tapping dance hits! ART ENCOUNTERS BY ART OUTREACH: Perpetual Motion by Gerald Leow

Description: Art Encounters, is a travelling artist’s studio and gallery housed in repurposed shipping containers. As part of Singapore Art Week 2022, it travels to the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza from 8 Jan to 6 Feb 2022 with Perpetual Motion by Gerald Leow.

Younger visitors can find an activity station at the Welcome Gallery, where they can create their own pinwheels that move in the wind like Leow’s work!

Light To Night Festival 2022

Life is Sweet: Ang Ku Kueh Girl Exhibition

Description: These illustrations were inspired by Wang Shijia’s reflections on life’s joys and struggles. But don’t mistake Ang Ku Kueh Girl for her creator! Ang Ku Kueh Girl is determined, persistent and a thankful optimist; Shijia aspires to be like her!

Many of these illustrations have been published before. They have since been updated with new details and colours. Shijia also added traditional Chinese motifs to convey her well wishes for visitors.
